Smarter Agent. Is it your Route to Appward Mobility?

Mobile Technology is changing so fast and a company called SMARTER AGENT is deploying gamut of advertising techniques proselytizing the indespensability of being mobile.

I would not argue with the reasons provided by the source. What I am concerned about is the Smarter’s Agent headline in December 15. 2011.

Mobile will get your Brand to the “Forefront of Millions of Potential Customers’ Minds”

Concern actually was a rather understated word. Panic and hyperventilation could be more appropriate for a realtor who has  limited $$$ allocation for the 2012 real estate budget for operations, marketing and advertising. I have enough dues and memberhsip fees to pay already. How much it will cost me this time to compete is the lingering question. To prolong my agony about this latest breakthrough  (breakthrough both in pocketbook and campaign) in advertising, I read on and bumped into:

“With branded mobile real estate applications, the homebuyer is empowered since they can direct any and all inquiries about any MLS listing to the realtor that the app is branded to – pretty powerful stuff, both for the customer searching for a home and the listing agent or agency.”

Empowerment is a big word. Who is Smarter agent to brag about this capability. Being a curious consumer and a trying-to-catch-up-with-tech realtor, I checked on the Smarter Agent’s development and history.

  • January 2008- The whole package runs on pretty much any Java enabled phone – indeed it was being demonstrated on Motorola Razr at the show.
  •  Smarter Agent, a mobile technology company that provides GPS and MLS search applications to consumers and real estate agents, today announced general availability on all carriers, devices and platforms including key partnerships with Verizon Wireless and an application for the Android platform. Smarter Agent can already be found on wireless carriers Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile, reaching traditional cell phones as well as the iPhone and BlackBerry devices, making Smarter Agent the only company to have robust downloadable real estate applications on all major carriers for all US cell phones.
  • June 2010 Smarter AgentFounder/CEO Brad Blumberg on Fox Business News describes how Smarter Agent built one of the first mobile applications for every phone long before the word app was coined.
  • November 2010-Smarter Agent Wins NAR Second Century Ventures Fast Pitch Innovation Contest!
